Lindisfarne Castle 01
![]() Lindisfarne Castle is on the Holy Island, Berwick-upon Tweed, Northumberland. It is perched atop a rocky island crag and is accessed only by a tidal causeway. The castle was built in the 1550's. In 1902 the architect Sir Edwin Lutyens began converting it into the Edwardian country house that can be seen today.
