Leafcutter Ant 01
![]() In Amazonia Indoor Tropical Rainforest (see Links tab) a column of leafcutter ants marched up a rope carrying pieces of leaves to their nest above. It was like watching an army on a great mission. I was fascinated by their single minded endeavours.
For the technically minded, the image was taken hand held using a Minolta 100mm f2.8 macro lens with Minolta macro twin flash units. The lens was set to 1:1 magnification. It was difficult to capture the ants as they were moving relatively fast up the rope and I had to guess when they would come into the frame. All things considered I am pleased with the result. |
