Chilean Rose Tarantula 01

This photograph was taken some years ago at Glasgow Zoo. The Curator for Insects at the zoo was showing the tarantula to a family and, with the parents permission, she placed the tarantula on the hands of their two young girls. I just happened to be there to capture this very dramatic image. I entered the photo in a camera club competition and the judge bombed it because he suffered from arachnophobia.
